Israel, Ari Spielman: “How could I leave? Here I can testify and be useful”

Young American studying in Tel Aviv told us his experience

(Bruxelles). “Didn’t you just think about taking a plane and going back to the US? Why are you still there?”. “How could I have, I would have felt guilty to look at what is happening here from afar, through a phone. In Tel Aviv, I have family, friends and I have known people who have passed. I don’t want to join the Army, but I can be useful here, I can testify and understand what happens”. That is what Ari Spielman, 24-yo American from New York, told us. He arrived in Israel last week to join a Master degree in Environmental Studies in Tel Aviv and he is now helping to collect food and provides aid to people in need with an organization of international students called operationmanna. “Hamas does not represent Palestinians, because civilians want peace and a livable future. Something has to happen, because there can’t be more than 1,300 people killed without anything happening. Hamas does not want a peaceful solution, they want to kill Jews, so if you believe in Palestine and Palestinians, you cannot be proud of what a terrorist regime like this is doing”.
